Position Overview
BPI is hiring a Staff Accountant that is responsible for overseeing Inventory and Expense Accounts Payable, supporting Accounts Receivable, processing sales tax returns, and performing various other accounting tasks as needed. Position Overview
BPI is hiring a Staff Accountant that is responsible for overseeing Inventory and Expense Accounts Payable, supporting Accounts Receivable, processing sales tax returns, and performing various other accounting tasks as needed. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized individual who demonstrates accountability, integrity, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Expense Accounts Payable
- Process all inventory and expense invoices through the automated AP system in a timely manner
- Maximize available early pay discounts
- Apply manual deductions for lost or damaged products
- Monitor and manage aged payables
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Analyst to resolve invoice issues
- Communicate with vendors on account setup, invoice discrepancies, and past-due balances
- EDI invoices and credits
- VMI invoices
- Direct shipment billings
- Process ACHs, wires, checks, and credit card payments.
- Bank reconciliations
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns and assist with other state reporting and compliance
- Support Accounts Receivable processes
- Assist with vendor rebates and promotional programs
- Provide support with other accounting functions as needed
Skills & Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software systems
- Strong initiative, character, and a positive attitude
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Previous accounting experience preferred
